Cash in the bag for Anthony Nolan Trust
9:41am Thursday 23rd February 2012
FUNDRAISERS have bagged more than £500 in memory of a boy who died of leukaemia.
A charity bag pack, held at Morrisons supermarket, in Winsford, has kick started a fortnight of fundraising events to remember schoolboy Andrew Taylor, who died in 2001, aged just 12.
A sponsored 12 mile walk around Whitegate will take place this Sunday followed by a charity gala night, featuring a rock ‘n’ roll tribute, charity auction, raffle and disco, at Ways Green Conservative Club on Friday, March 2.
All monies raised will be donated to the Anthony Nolan Trust, which matches donors with people in need of stem cell transplants.
The events have been organised by friends and family of Andrew, including his mum, Sue.
Anyone wanting to sign up for the walk or would like tickets to the gala night should call Wendy Cain on 01606 558288.
